Meet Bellman’s new social media guru and discover his tips for getting your brand out there

We’ve gone through a period of transformation in the Bellman studio. Adding to our already talented team, we have three new members calling the studio home. Each new Bellman expert brings with them a wealth of knowledge that our existing and future clients will be able to benefit from.

Tommy Kuo is Bellman’s social media whizz-kid. His natural flair for digital channels and visual design make him an unrivalled asset when it comes to getting your brand noticed in the social media landscape.

Without further delay, let’s hear some more from Tommy, and what he brings to the studio.

Tell us what you do at Bellman:

I’m in charge of all things social media here at Bellman. That includes creating content, content management, social media strategy and consolidating social media calendars.

What do you like doing for fun?

I’m an enthusiastic portrait and fashion photographer. Pretty much every weekend I’m out on photoshoots or editing images.

If you could pick a super power what would it be and why?

Flying would be really cool. No capes though.

What is your favourite movie?

I really like Christopher Nolan’s movies. His films look beautiful; I’m more of a visual person. Saying that, I really liked Moana.

What are your top three tips for 2018?

1) For designers and artists, don’t just share your best work – Show some behind-the-scenes or work-in-progress images on your social media channel, whether that be Facebook, Instagram, Behance, or any other good portfolio site. Even if you don’t want to keep it on your feed, chuck it up on your story. People love to see that kind of stuff.

2) Keep your brand in mind on social media – For clients, keeping your brand looking consistent across your social media channels is important for new audiences to recognise that they’re looking at the right page. Making sure your profile images and feeds look similar is an example of this.

3) Do an audit of your own social media channels regularly – Make sure you’re conscious of how your pages look and whether they are up to date and best reflect your brand. You should also make sure you’re on all the current platforms to stay with the times. If you’re not sure, check in with your competitors to see what they’re doing and what works, or doesn’t work for them.
